Old Line-up, New Sound

The current line-up of Blue On Black has done a few shows, and is sounding awesome. This was basically the first Lady Zeppelin band, so we already have a comfortable and creative band chemistry. I have tried a few amp set-ups, and am at present using my Mesa/Boogie RectoVerb 25 head and 212 cabinet. We have started adding original songs to the set, and the Boogie gives me two channels to handle more sounds. My new guitar from Perry Ormsby, ‘Blackie’ sounds great through it, as do my other customs. Added to my live rig this year are an Ormsby SX6 and TX7, both stock production models available from the Ormsby Guitars website.

I’m really happy with the way the songs are coming together. You can hear a sample of the new stuff on the Blue On Black YouTube page in the shorts section. We’ve written a heap of songs that are quite passable, so there’s a distinct possibility of some recording happening soon. Donna is in fine voice, and writing blues stuff has been a lot of fun discoveries.

Details of upcoming dates are on my Facebook and Twitter (X) pages, as well as photos from our most recent gig with Hope River Road.
