Guitar Nerd Report

GUITAR NERD REPORT: It’s been a while since I last hit the Turbo Nerd button, so here’s what’s happening with the axes and the rig.
Having rediscovered some roots and done some new exploring in the blues, I’ve added some colours to my tonal palette. This has included setting up the GG6FG for slide playing, and tuning the SX6 to open G. I have also made good on my promise to write some blues on a seven string guitar, and added the TX7 and SX7 Shark to the arsenal. Most of my playing is still in E standard tuning, so I always play it safe and have a backup guitar in E standard. The guitars filling these roles are Blackie and the GG6.

My Mesa/Boogie RectoVerb 25 head and 3/4 back 212 cabinet have become the main stage rig, the two channels giving me the tones I need for the Blue On Black repertoire.
As you may have guessed by now, my back seat is going to be stacked to the roof with guitar cases the next time we gig! There will be extra lifting, but the fun factor vastly outweighs any labour woes. After all these years, being surrounded by guitars is still one of my favourite things, and you’re invited to witness the fun.
